Love this place as well! Two locations, the Mid-City one is nearly impossible to get into on the weekends, but worth a long wait. The downtown location is a solid brunch stop and also has good lunches. It’s not open for dinner, so if it’s after 2, you’re out of luck. They have general diner/sandwich shop type food, but always seems to have some fun New Orleans special. If you’re staying downtown, it’s tucked away in the CBD not far from Harrah’s, so make the effort to go there for a breakfast/lunch.
MVB at Slim Goodie’s* (#147, 4/11/2011)
This is another of those pop-up places. MVB, I believe stands for Most Valuable Burger. It used to “pop up” in slim Goodies Diner on Sundays. Not sure if it’s still around. It’s a solid stop wth a prety good burger. Not the best in town, but solid. A good and greasy burger, so might make a good hangover meal.

I like this place a lot! I would say it’s the best place in town for tacos. This “Caribbean Taqueria” has a ton of different ones and some good specials on multiples, such as the Two Dat, the Taco Trifecta and the Mr. Bigg (four tacos). Just about every taco I’ve had has been good, love the calypso, the chili-glazed shrimp and the brisket. also has excellent margaritas. And always get plantains!
